By doing so you keep your body fueled which prevents you from going into storage mode where your body starts to store fat and burn muscle. The result of burning muscle is that you slow down your metabolism.
1lb. fat burns 3-5 cal/day, 1lb. of muscle burns 30-50 cal/day, which means the more muscle you have on your frame the more calories you burn.
So when we tell you workout smarter not harder remember the more muscle you have on your frame the more calories you are going to burn!
